On Monday Prince Harry awarded Archbishop Desmond Tutu with the Order of Companions of Honour on behalf of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
British High Commissioner to South Africa Judith Macgregor said the award was given to Tutu in recognition of "a lifetime of service to peace, reconciliation, and human rights all around the world and in Africa".
The Archbishop and Prince Harry met on the balcony of the Desmond and Leah Tutu Legacy Foundation.
This was the first official fixture of Prince Harry's four-day tour of South Africa. He is spending the rest of Monday visiting youth empowerment initiatives around Cape Town.
