First of all, I would like to congratulate the Rehad Desai and his producers for winning the Emmy awards on the documentary Miners shot down. When I watched the documentary, it revealed a lot of things that Zuma did not consider. Worse off, this documentary was not even aired to the nation.
So why can't an ordinary South African watch a film like this is beyond me. I mean, the SABC are so hell-bent on broadcasting sunshine journalism, they have lost ground on the truth. Maybe, Miners shot down reveals the truth that the ruling ANC has lost control ever since Zuma took over and therefore they decided not to show the documentary.
What the South Africans are annoyed about is the way they congratulated Rehad Desai on the film. Not only that, the ANC even have the audacity to call this a work of art. In my opinion, how is this called a work of art when there are families who are struggling to make ends meet because their spouses, who are bread winners, are no longer with them. How on earth can the police be called ' support casts' ( especially Riah Phiyega, who is clearly nothing more than incompetent cop.)
In fact it was really hypocritical for the ANC to congratulate them on the documentary just because it won an Emmy. What if they missed on the Emmy? Would the ANC give its full support?
It does seem to us that the ANC have lost the plot by thinking that this documentary is just another movie.
