Mbuli family members appeal for privacy

Johannesburg - The family of SABC radio and television presenter Vuyo Mbuli on Saturday thanked South Africans for the support they received in the wake of his death, a spokesperson for the family said.

"The family of Vuyo Mbuli, who was laid to rest on Friday..., would like to thank South Africans for the outpouring of love and support that they have received after the death of their dearly departed husband and father," said Rowena Baird in a statement.

Mbuli 46, collapsed while watching the Cheetahs' Super Rugby win over the Reds at the Free State Stadium on Saturday last week.

"They [Mbuli's family] would appreciate it if South Africans and the media would respect the cultural practices and traditions that they adhere to in recognition and respect for Vuyo Mbuli."

The family appealed for privacy as they mourned his death.
