Hammanskraal man arrested for wife's murder

Pretoria - A man who was wanted in connection with the murder of his wife has been arrested after being on the run for two days.

The man allegedly strangled his wife to death on Tuesday night at their home in Carousel view, Hammanskraal.

The man then reported the matter on Wednesday morning to one of the ward committee members before fleeing.

The man then went into hiding following the incident.

Police spokesperson, Constable Herman Moremi said the man was found hiding at his friend's house in Portion 9, Hammanskraal.

"Temba police received a tip-off from members of the community and they managed to arrest the suspect," he said.

The man is expected to appear at the Moretele Magistrate's Court soon on a charge of murder.
