Pretoria - A smiling Oscar Pistorius was pictured surrounded by young children as he celebrated his birthday at his uncle's house in Pretoria over the weekend.
Pistorius turned 29 on Monday, but had a birthday party with family members on Sunday, his aunt, Lois Pistorius tweeted.
Netwerk24 reported on Tuesday that the children in the picture were mostly the grandchildren of his aunt and uncle, Lois and Arnold Pistorius, and the children of family friends.
Pistorius family spokesperson Anneliese Burgess said Oscar loves babies, and had asked that his closest friends and family spend the day with him.

The former Paralympian is currently under correctional supervision at his uncle's Pretoria home. He was released from prison on October 19 after serving one sixth of his five-year sentence, and two weeks ago reported to a nearby police station for community service as part of his sentence.
Pistorius was convicted of culpable homicide for killing his girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp, in February 2013. The State appealed his conviction and the outcome of the appeal will be revealed in the next few weeks.
