Thieves rob customers at Randburg bottle store

Durban – The Randburg police are investigating a case of armed robbery after a group of men robbed customers at a bottle store on Saturday night.

Police spokesperson Stanley Bopape said at around 19:55 four unknown males entered the Liquor Plus shop at the corner of Malibongwe and Hill Street at Appleton Village in Ferndale.

“The men, who were all armed, pointed at the tellers and customers with firearms and took the customer's jewellery, cell phones and cash to the tune of R12 935.

“They also took eight packs of castle lite...and fled the scene.”

Bopape said two shots were fired outside the bottle store but no injuries were reported.
