Pretoria - Two people were killed and six others injured when a bakkie collided with a car along the N12 outside Kimberley.
ER24 spokesperson, Chitra Bodasing said paramedics found the two vehicles in the veld on either side of the road. Bodasing said one person was trapped in the bakkie and other patients were found scattered around the scene.
“The person trapped in the vehicle was assessed [but] sadly there was nothing that could be done for him. He had succumbed to his injuries. A woman, who was an occupant of the car, was found laying in the veld a few metres away from the vehicle. Sadly she had also succumbed to her injuries,” said Bodasing.
When paramedics assessed all the other patients, one adult was found in a critical condition with another having sustained moderate injuries and four children sustained moderate to serious injuries.
The injured patients were treated and transported to hospital for further medical care. The cause of the collision was not known.
