There are fears for Pistorius's safety. "Arnold Pistorius has asked police to escort Oscar saying concerned about presence of Schultz et al. Says to me 'we are worried for Oscar'," tweets Mandy Wiener.

Pistorius made a quiet entrance into the court this morning, without his entourage of bodyguards.

The Oscar Trial Channel tweets: "Steenkamp family advocate confirms that he negotiated R6 000 a month for them (from Pistorius). Pistorius wanted to keep payments a secret, Steenkamps thought it was only fair to make it public.

"The last payment was last month, but now they're in a position to repay it.

"The Steenkamps don't want any money and there will be no civil case - they want closure."
