Cape Town - The N1 highway between Laingsburg and Prince Albert Road in the Western Cape has been re-opened after flooding closed it temporarily.
Arrive Alive reports the local Wilgerhout River burst its banks, causing the closure of the N1 highway and a heavy back up of traffic.
The heavy rains have caused millions of rands in damages in the town, a popular pit stop between Johannesburg and Cape Town, and motorists are still being advised to proceed with caution.
