London - Jason Day's win in the Barclays on Sunday has allowed him to narrow the gap on Rory McIlroy and Jordan Spieth atop the world golf rankings.
The Australian, playing for the first time since winning his first major title at the PGA Championship, now has 10.99 points, just 1.36 points adrift of top-ranked McIlroy.
The Northern Irishman regained the top spot from Spieth after the Masters and US Open winner missed the cut at the Barclays.
All three will be involved in the closing stages of the PGA season with chances to end the year ranked number one in the world.
