Mweene: We will start preparing for the finals

Cape Town - Kennedy Mweene says Mamelodi Sundowns are feeling rejuvenated and are relishing the upcoming Telkom Knockout final against Kaizer Chiefs.

Sundowns' management granted the players seven days off from training this week during the break from Absa Premiership action.

The Brazilians face Amakhosi in the TKO final at the Moses Mabhida Stadium when domestic action resumes on December 16.

Mweene believes Sundowns will return to training with a renewed impetus and feels optimistic about his side's chances against Chiefs.

"The break helped us," Mweene told Soccer Laduma.

"We have been playing game in and game out and we needed to rest.

"I think the rest came at the right time as we are preparing for the TKO finals against Kaizer Chiefs.

"We are returning to training on Monday and we will start preparing for the finals."

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
