Cape Town - The world recently celebrated World Naturists Day on 14 December - just a few weeks after South Africa's first official nude beach was approved.
Trafalgar Beach, a little 500m stretch of naturist paradis found within the Mpenjati Nature Reserve now has the backing of the KwaZulu-Natal Hibiscus Coast municipality.
Times Live reports a delay in the ablution block facilities meant that it could not be open for the momentous day celebrated across nudist beaches of the world.

But the International Naturist federation's code of conduct has been adopted for the beach and those wanting to get glowing au natural when it does open in early 2015 would need to stick to the following rules.
There will be no photograph taken "unless everyone in the picture agrees to it being taken and gets to see it afterwards".
No “rude” staring will be tolerated, whether you’re fully clothed or not and any sexual conduct such as “dancing in a provocative manner, sitting on someone's genitals, swapping saliva [or] touching genitals” is strictly prohibited.
And just like being naked is a natural experience, the code recognises that so too are "unpredictable erections". In this case the rules advise that “a simple towel be used for covering it up or lying on your front and no one will notice”.
In addition to this, rude comments are forbidden as well as obscene or offensive language, racism, sexism, homophobia or sexual or erotic material.

But as Trafalagar Beach prepares to bare it all, the question has been raised about Sandy Bay as a nudist beach. Long seen as one of the top nude beaches in the world and recognised as a naturist heritage site in Cape Town by the Western Cape Naturist Association, the WCNA has now launched a petition to have the beach awarded official nudist beach status.
WCNA said that by declaring Sandy Bay an official naturist beach it would be able to apply a the afore mentioned code of conduct.
plagued by reports of misconduct on the beach, the organisation states that official status would also add to better care being taken of the beach so as to “bring back tourists and families and protect all visitors to the beach.
