The 51st Wildlife Photographer of the Year People’s Choice pic just cracks us up

Cape Town - The world-renowned 51st Wildlife Photographer of the Year Exhibition, currently on display at the Chavonnes Battery Museum at the V&A Waterfront's Clock Tower, has just crowned their People’s Choice Award winner and we can't help but chuckle when looking at it.

The People’s Choice Award recognizes outstanding competition entries as decided by the public. This year the public could vote for one of 25 photos pre-selected by the judges out of the 42 000 competition entries from almost 100 countries.

This year’s award-winning images, on loan from the Natural History Museum in London, are currently on display in Cape Town and then move on to Johannesburg and will open on 1 May at The Sheds@1Fox.

This year's exhibition boasts 13 images by South African Finalists and Winners for the various categories featured.

Remarkably, for the first time ever a father and son duo have been chosen as finalists in the same year, for one WPY exhibition. The South African father and son entrants, Wim and Juan van der Heever, were both commended for their work in this year’s WPY.
