PICS: Would you ever be brave enough to spend the night in this see-through cliff-hanging capsule in Peru?

Cape Town - If spending the night in all sorts of extraordinary accommodation forms part of your travel plans, Peru's Skylodge Adventure Suites should certainly feature on your bucket list.

Located in the sacred Cuzco Valley, Skylodge offers guests the opportunity to sleep within a completely transparent, ultra luxurious pod-shaped bedroom, clinging to the side of a cliff with panoramic views of the valley below.

Now, we're pretty sure half of you are wondering how you can sign up, while the rest are happy to enjoy the rest of their lives without ever having to put themselves through the trauma of spending the night suspended far too many metres above the ground.

If you're in the first half, here's the catch: you have to scale the 400m cliff face or take on a challenging hiking trail including a number of ziplines over sheer drops.

Still sound cool?

Well, then you will be rewarded with a night of unprecedented luxury and scenery! Each of the pods is equipped with a cozy bed covered in cotton sheets, an en-suite bathroom and a separate dining area. While it may feel utterly precarious, the pods are extremely safe, hand crafted using aerospace aluminum and weather resistant polycarbonate.

Considering the exclusivity of the experience, the price tag attached isn't even too exorbitant. For one night in the pod, including transportation from/to your hotel, guides, equipment, a snack for the ascent, a gourmet dinner with bottle of wine, and breakfast over the Sacred Valley, it costs 999 Peruvian Nuevo Sol per person, roughly R3 921.
