Cape Town - South Africans have a good sense of humour - one that filters down even from the higher points of authority in the country.
By the looks of things, our Department of Home Affairs enjoys a good laugh as much as our beloved President enjoys a lekker chuckle in parli.
The DHA in 2015 saw its fair share of critique and controversy with the amendments to visa regulations in terms of minor travel in and out of SA - see Traveller24's coverage here.
The adjustment to the laws were condemned from the get-go, and it's caused a lot of headache and heartache for travellers with kids since its inception in June this year.
But apart from the grief, Home Affairs has also provided us with some good laughs.
Here are 16 times SA's Department of Home Affairs cracked us up:
When this 'Oompie' became a very progressive South African -
And this 'Tannie' -
When this bloke was named after a Sunday paper -
Pretty thorough ensuring Mr Browness had all his names on his ID 'etc' -
When they issued Pipinyana Pampoen's ID -
And Two-rand's ID -
When they didn't beat around the bush with Oral Sex's ID -
Foki Voeltjie - enough said.
When they went all 'Hakuna Matata' with Victor Dont-Worry -
When they were serious about Killmequick -
And Matric Examsion -
When they took Ms Du Plessis a little too literally -
When they confused these newlyweds -
When they put the party in Mr Ndlovo's name
When they decided to address corruption head on -
When they created a platform for entrepreneurial skills -
