Cape Town swimming pools will keep it cool this holiday

Cape Town - Finally the third term is over and school children will be looking for a place to chill out, relax and splash around with their friends. After the long and icy winter, the warmer weather has come and the City of Cape Town expects the arrival of excited flocks of kids and families at their public swimming pools.

One huge priority for the city’s pools is SAFETY. The city says safety of all children is always a concern; especially when they are having so much fun in the water - but it has taken special care to ensure there are no bad ends to good days this spring holidays.

The City of Cape Town’s Sport, Recreation and Amenities (SRA) Department confirmed over 200 trained and certified lifeguards will be watching over swimmers at all of the City’s public swimming pools.

COOL BY THE POOL RULES

1. Regardless of your expertise, all swimmers are expected to obey the rules of the pool.

2. Listen to lifeguards and pool staff members.

3. Keep it fun for everyone.

4. No irresponsible behaviour is allowed.

5. Never endanger others.

6. Report all injuries and illnesses to the lifeguard BEFORE entering the pool.

7. Lifeguards are there to save people’s lives. Let them do their job.
