Cape Town - Whale-watching season is upon us and if you want a fair chance to spot the southern right whales and their young, it's best you head to Hermanus on the Whale Coast.

The drone footage was captured by Esperance local Jaimen Hudson, who launched his quad-copter drone after hearing of the whales.
In May this year, South African kayakers had an equally up-close encounter with a whale when a Southern Right surfaced right next to their kayaks off the shore of Hermanus.
