Cape Town – A pic of what can best be described as the worst sandwich ever served at an airport has gone viral, it’s just that pitiful.
Posted to Reddit by user Spambox who said, “This is what a £3.20 bacon and egg roll from Edinburgh Airport looks like.”
“As soon as I opened it I burst out laughing as did my girlfriend because, well, look at it. It’s so bad it’s funny.”
To put it into context, this is what R61 at an estimated R19.20/£ bought…

Time reports that a spokesperson from the airport has since apologised for the ‘half-baked’ sandwich saying, “Sadly on this occasion we fell below the mark and offer our apologies to this customer. Clearly this is not the service we should be providing and we will be addressing this complaint with EAT (The outlet where Spambox bought the sandwich).”
Now do yourself a favour and read Darrel Bristow-Bovey’s column on how financially bruising a holiday can be for a South African visiting the UK – it certainly is funnier than this paltry excuse for a sandwich.
