#SASnowPics: Winter on one side of SA, summer on the other...

Cape Town - Snow lovers around the country were once again treated to a white winter weekend in especially the Eastern Cape and KwaZulu-Natal.

Snowfall was reported in Clarens and the Golden Gate National Park in the Free State too, despite reports that snowfall in this regions would be highly unlikely.

Traveller24 reported on Friday of several passes in the Eastern Cape that had to be closed due to icy and snowy conditions.

Here are the best readers' photographs of snow falling in various areas over the weekend:

In Cape Town and the coastal parts of the Eastern Cape, however, it seemed as if spring had come a month early this year. Cape Town experienced two warm and sunny winter weekend days, while coastal towns like Port Elizabeth and East London too had a warm weekend.

The South African Weather Service, however, warned of another cold front to hit the Western Cape and Cape Peninsula tomorrow, 4 August. The cold front will be accompanied by rain showers and would move in a southern direction over the country.
