Cape Town - Predictions of snow across certain parts of South Africa have hit full force, especially in the Southern Drakensberg region and Lesotho if these pics are anything to go by.
SnowReport report confirmed heavy snowfall for the Drakensberg Gardens mountains, while conditions were expected to be lighter at ground level.
Colette Van Loggerenberg commented on a pic posted to SnowReport, saying conditions were particularly icy on the N3 just past Nottingham Rd near Mooiriver in KwaZulu-Natal.
The South African Weather Service had also warned that certain mountain passes could be closed to traffic, as snowfall was expected to be disruptive in the northern high-lying regions of the Eastern Cape.
Earlier this week, the Lootsberg Pass between Middelburg and Graaff Reinet, forming part of the N9, as well as the Penhoek Pass between Aliwal North and Queenstown, forming part of the N6, had been closed due to snowfall.
The Barkly Pass on the R58 between Barkly East and Elliot and the Boesmanshoek Pass between Steynsburg and Elliot were also closed.
But how hard has it been snowing in Lesotho!? This hard. And we'd really like to know why is that person out horse riding?
Nicola Gerrad from Semonkong Lodge in Lesotho sent us these images - conditions have become so bad that road access is also currently closed due to the icy conditions.
