Cape Town – With Durban counting among the top 14 finalists of the New7Wonders Cities campaign, you best get voting to help secure its place among the best.
While you can do just that by heading over to the website, making use of the iPhone or Android apps, sms or by giving the international voting line a call, organisers thought it might be fun to bring in a bit of an old school element.
New7Wonders Founder-President Bernard Weber announced in a press statement that for the first time, postal voting using the New7Wonders Cities Voting Postcards has been enabled.
"By giving people the chance to vote using postcards in these final days of the campaign, we are adding a traditional way of communicating to our range of high-tech voting options," says Weber. "The postal service remains one of the most important messaging systems, and we are celebrating its global role with this initiative."
All postal voting will be coordinated via the New7Wonders global post voting centre in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
The official supporting committees of the participating
finalist cities are already printing the cards and distributing them amongst
voters in schools and colleges, in offices across each country, and to the
public in general. The New7Wonders Cities will be announced from Dubai at 19:00
GMT on 7 December.

Each New7Wonders Cities Voting Postcard has the name of one
finalist city, and if properly completed (and making sure it arrives in Dubai
by 4 December), it will count as one vote for that city.
