MAP: Road closures for demolition of Cape Town's 'worst hotel'

Cape Town - Various roads in Cape Town's CBD will be closed on Sunday 1 March for the demolition of the Tulip Hotel and Conference Centre on the corner of Strand and Bree Street in Cape Town.

Traveller24 reported earlier this month that the hotel, which is no longer in use, was considered to be the 'worst hotel' in the Mother City.

Regardless of The Tulip Hotel and Conference Centre's prime location, it has been trashed onTripadvisor from being a "Terrible" place to stay. A female reviewer from Switzerland wrote, "It was my worst hotel experience! Super dirty and disgusting room, broken shower (no warm water), terrible elevator, very thin wall, stains on bed sheet, and the smell in the room is just unacceptable."

Another user, Mondli K, who stayed in the Tulip during last year's Cape Town Jazz Festival, said the stay was “The Worst Hotel Experience Ever”.

The demolition will take place at 08:00 on Sunday morning. Road closures, restricted Exclusion Zone access and no vehicle parking within the Exclusion Zone will be enforced from 06:00 and will continue until 10:00. All vehicles parked within the Exclusion Zone after 06:00 will be towed to safe location by the Traffic Department.

Check out this map shared by the Central City Improvement District of the affected roads:
