Cape Town - The heavy snowfall that was expected to hit the Western Cape from Wednesday afternoon, 29 July, will be less intense than previously forecasted, reports Snow Report SA and SA Snow Forecast.
Although snow is still expected to fall in the higher regions of the Western Cape, Eastern Cape and KwaZulu-Natal's Drakensberg, the amount of snowfall expected is unlikely to be more than 10 centimeters deep.
Southern Lesotho is still expected to get the highest snowfall on Thursday night through to Friday morning.
While less snow is expected in the Western Cape in the days leading up to the weekend, rain will be more prevalent in this area on especially Wednesday up until Thursday morning, reports YR.no.
The cold front, along with the less severe snowfall, will continue to move in a north-easterly direction, approaching the weekend.
Snow-lovers might still be in luck with a snowy weekend in the Drakensberg highlands at Tiffindell and AfriSki in Lesotho.
