Cape Town – The South African Weather Service has issued a severe weather warning for the Western and Northern Cape on Wednesday and Thursday.
An intense cold front is expected to bring gale force winds, rough seas, extremely cold conditions and snowfall across the two provinces.

Travellers are advised to take special precautions and be aware of possible road closures.
Areas expected to be affected include the Cape Metropole, the Overberg and Cape Winelands. High seas and waves as high as 6m are expected between Table Bay and Plettenberg Bay.
According to Snow Report, light snow would already have started falling on the Cederberg by Thursday morning, as well as the high ranges around Ceres and Wellington. Snow will continue over the high peaks through the day and into the night.
