Cape Town – It seems like ‘Ebola’ is the new ‘bomb,’ as yet another flight was subjected to a terrifying ‘joke’ by a passenger.
A flight from Italy to Ireland was put on temporary lockdown after a passenger wrote a chilling note on a coffee cup. It read ‘Be careful, Ebola.’
Msnbc reports that the Aer Lingus flight was about to touch down at Dublin Airport when the passenger handed the cup to one of the cabin crew.
According to a statement released by Aer Lingus the plane was put on temporary lockdown as a precaution while the matter was being investigated. The flight was kept on the tarmac for about an hour with 142 passengers on board.
The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) was called to the scene to perform a thorough investigation and no evidence of a health risk was found.
The Irish Independent reports that three passengers were
arrested following the incident.
The daughter of one of the passengers on board tweeted about the incident:
The plane Dad is on is still sitting on the tarmac of Dublin Airport. The man made the Ebola threat by writing on a coffee cup. So scary.

This comes just a few weeks after a passenger was escorted off a US Airways flight from Philadelphia to Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic for telling fellow passengers that he was infected by the deadly virus. He was arrested and deported back to the US.
