PICS: What the plane that hit a building at OR Tambo looks like now


Cape Town - There is no doubt that the aviation industry is an expensive one, especially since most planes cost a fortune to buy and they run on that volatile commodity fuel. 

But the reason we fork out for those pricey plane tickets time after time, is because flying is just so damn convenient.

It does however make you wonder, what happens to planes when they’re decommissioned or no longer fit for service.

Especially in the case of the plane that hit a building at Africa’s busiest airport hub in Johannesburg back in 2013.  

In case you missed it – one fateful night during the festive season silliness a BA Boeing 747-400 en route to London, allegedly used the wrong taxiway and accidentally hit a building at OR Tambo International Airport.

According to pics posted by RadarBox24.com – The plane has now been broken up for scrap.
