WATCH: Actual flying car takes to the sky

Cape Town - Finally! Someone is actually making all our '80s sci-fi movie fantasies come true: hello, flying cars!

Slovakian startup company AeroMobil just started test flights on their AeroMobil 3.0 at the Pioneers Festival in Vienna  this week and it looks really promising.

According to the website, the AeroMobil is 'a flying car that perfectly makes use of existing infrastructure created for automobiles and planes, and opens doors to real door-to-door travel.'

The concept has come along way, with the first prototype being developed in 1990.

Mashable reports that the car, which can carry two people, operates on petrol, like any other car and needs about 200 meters to take off, and only 50 meters to land. It can fly as fast as 200km/h.
