N1 closed to save mother goose and goslings

Cape Town - In a much welcome road traffic obstruction, the frantically busy N1 freeway at Beyers Naude Drive in Johannesburg was closed on Monday morning, 22 December, by a kind-hearted metro police officer who helped a mother goose and her 6 fluffy goslings cross the road!

Spokesperson Chief Superintendent Wayne Minnaar said that the officer found the goose and goslings trying to cross over from the center of the freeway when he decided to block off all of the lanes in order to save the gaggle.

The SPCA there-after took the lot in a box to a place of safety.

The incident took place around 08:00.
