Cape Town – While most parents would hardly allow their babies to crawl along the edge of the 10cm high back stoep, a family visiting the 600-metre high Preikestolen cliff in Norway, obviously hold no such qualms.
Mashable reports that hiker Fred Sirevåg had to do a double take while enjoying the spectacular views from the cliff top, when he spotted a family nonchalantly photographing their infant crawling spine-chillingly close to the cliff edge.
He snapped a shot of the incident, which he sent to Norway’s English newspaper, The Local. It was soon circulated on social media and in no time the daring baby and its, either very trusting or just plain irresponsible, parents had made headline news.
Fred Sirevag said he debated walking down to say something to the parents, but they picked up the kid moments later. pic.twitter.com/AGWYmNefWb

General manager of Stavanger Turistforening (Stavanger Tourist Association), Preben Falck told the paper that while they encourage people to be cautious while visiting the popular tourist attraction – especially with children – they will not erect fences or signage close to the cliff edge that could spoil the view.
The Preikestolen attracts thousands of visitors on an annual basis and has also become quite a popular spot to snap and share on Instagram. Take a look at these pics:
