Cape Town – A renowned pastor and church leader was killed when the private jet he was travelling in hit a construction crane in the Bahamas.
AL.com reports that Dr. Myles Munroe, leader of Bahamas Faith Ministries, his wife Ruth and seven other people were killed when their plane crashed into a shipyard crane on approach to the Grand Bahama International Airport.
Munroe and his entourage were on their way to attend the Global Leadership Forum, an event organised by Bahamas Fait Ministries.
According to AP, the Ministry of Transport and Aviation said the Lear 36 Executive Jet had taken off from the capital of Nassau and crashed while attempting to land around 17:00.
Everyone on board the aircraft died in the crash.
The department said a full scale investigation will start tomorrow morning at daylight, which will include the Department of Civil Aviation Aircraft Accident Investigation Prevention Unit.
