Cape Town - As part of the Traveler's Choice Awards, TripAdvisor has announced its top 25 destinations for 2015 and guess what? Cape Town features in the 10th position!
Although it's no surprise seeing the Mother City being singled out on top destination lists, what makes this achievement even more special is the fact that it moved up a full 9 positions from last year.
According to the TripAdvisor summary, Cape Town "glistens at the southern tip of the African continent" and offers "picture-perfect views at Blaauwberg Beach and Kirstenbosch National Botanical Gardens."
It beat major urban destinations such as New York City, as well as Barcelona, Bangkok, Athens, Hong Kong and Dubai to the top 10, setting itself apart once more as a world renowned holiday spot, and follows shortly on the footsteps of Paris in the 9th position.

The Top 25 are the cream of the crop of no less than 469 top travel destinations worldwide that were highlighted in millions of reviews and opinions from TripAdvisor travellers.
These destinations have been divided into lists for Asia, Australia, Africa, Canada, Caribbean, Central America, Europe, China, Middle East, Russia, South America, the South Pacific, the UK, and the US.
"These world-class destinations chosen by our community are rich in history, culture and beauty and offer endless sights to explore," said Barbara Messing, chief marketing officer for TripAdvisor. "To help travellers discover these cities, TripAdvisor has surfaced value hotel options that are bookable on the site, along with fantastic places to eat and play."
