SA coffee shop voted the best in the WORLD! Here are our favourite coffee spots in SA

Cape Town - The sexy steampunk Truth Coffee Roasting shop in Buitenkant street, Cape Town, has been mentioned by acclaimed UK news agency, The Telegraph, as being the very best in the whole world - and we agree they're the cream of the crop!

From a list of 13 unique coffee shops and roasteries in the world,  Truth's steampunk-inspired artisan coffee shop - a warehouse filled from top to bottom with metal piping and quirky, old machinery - surfaced on top, grinding out some of the top shops in France, Vienna, Singapore and Italy.

5. Cafe Central, Austria, Vienna
6. Johan & Nyström, Stockholm, Sweden

While The Telegraph must know their stuff if they chose Truth as their favourite caffeine depot on the globe - they don't know SA like we do... because if they did, they would have told you about these too...

Here are Traveller24's Top 10 South African coffee shops.. These quaint caffeine spots were all chosen because of their initiative in roasting their own coffee blends, or for the unique coffee drinking experience they offer SA locals and visitors.

10. Iewers Nice - Westdene, Bloemfontein

This quirky Bloem favourite serves Lavazza Italian coffee, but with real South African tongue-in-cheek flair.

9. Deluxe Coffeeworks - Gardens, Cape Town
Situated on the same premises as the beloved Dog's Bollocks, this coffee roastery will have you mesmerized with their exceptional cappuccino art and impressive roasting equipment.

8. The Bike and Bean - Durban shore, Durban

Buy a cuppa and then hire a bike to ride out on the Durban shore. This humble coffee house has their priorities in order.

Quirky and fun - Freedom Cafe has become an institution in Durban. They serve the best rainbow cake in the world, too!

5.
Tribe Coffee Roasting - Woodstock, Cape Town

Located in the Woodstock Foundry, this humble little roastery can be smelt a mile away when they turn on the roasters in the shop. They supply a lot of coffee shops around Cape Town, but their base is a must visit.

A small little shop where locals flock to get their daily fix. The coffee is imported but roasted, ground and brewed on the premises.

Blonde wooden walls, counters and furnishings make this a tranquil escape from the city bustle. Father Coffee serves home-roasted coffee beans and brews, which you can also take home in a bag - winning!

2. Espresso Lab Microroasters - Woodstock, Cape Town

Don't let the science-inspired look of this tiny roastery in the Old Biscuit Mill fool you. They serve the best Cortado in the country.

1. Truth Coffee Roastery - Buitenkant Street, Cape Town
We have to agree with The Telegraph here... Nothing in SA beats the sublime coffees, steampunk decor and the friendly baristas (even though they look like the butcher from 'The Gangs of New York'...)

Best Coffee shop ever. #capetown #southafrica #coffee #truthcoffee #steampunk
