SA shines at World Travel Awards



Cape Town - South Africa has yet again proved to be one of the best and well-organised travelling destinations on the African continent, receiving numerous awards at the recent African and Indian Ocean leg of The World Travel Awards.

The Awards are known as the 'Oscars' of the travelling world. Here are the winners:

Destinations:
SA won Africa's leading destination - Cape Town, Africa's leading tourist destination - Table Mountain and Africa's leading meeting and conference destination - Durban.

Flights:
We managed to secure Africa's leading airline - South African Airways, Africa's leading airport - O.R. Tambo International, Africa's leading travel agency - Club Travel as well as Africa's leading travel management company - Travel with Flair South Africa.

Hotels:
Many hotels and resort were awarded, including Africa's leading boutique hotel - Saxon Hotel, Villas & Spa, Africa's leading apartment hotel - The Regent Luxury Apartments, Africa's leading casino resort - The Palazzo Montecasino, Africa's leading city hotel - Pepperclub Hotel & Spa, Africa's leading conference hotel - Radisson Blu Waterfront, Cape Town, Africa's leading family resort - Sun City Resort, Africa's leading hotel residences - Cape Royale Luxury Hotel & Spa, Africa's leading hotel suite - Nelson Mandela Platinum Suite at Saxon Hotel and Africa's leading luxury villa - Ellerman House Villa One.

The extras: 
We also received awards as Africa's leading conservation company - Shamwari Game Reserve, Africa's leading cruise port - Port of Cape Town, Africa's leading luxury train - The Blue Train, Africa's leading luxury lodge - Thanda Private Game Reserve, Africa's leading private game reserve - Shambala Private Reserve and Africa's leading sports resort - Legend Golf & Safari Resort.
