Sushi on wheels - Uber offering to bring sushi lunch to SA


Cape Town - SA Uber drivers should wear halos... because sushi-bearing people are angels!

If you are quick enough, you can enjoy your own Black Friday lunch without the stress of Friday traffic!

Uber South Africa is doing the travel for you and bringing you sushi ‘on-demand’ for this month’s #UberLUNCH pop-up on Friday, 27 November. The sushi lunch is done is association with Eat Out.

Uber riders living in Cape Town, Joburg and Durban can request to have two portions of sushi from the following restaurants delivered right to your destination:

KOI Sandton and KOI Rosebank - 8 x Salmon California Rolls and 8 x Tuna Fashion Sandwiches.

Active Sushi Cape Town - 4 x Money Bars (deep fried prawn roll with avocado, caviar, mayo and spring onion), 4 x Rainbow Rolls, 4 x Sakura (salmon, cream cheese, beetroot, avocado topped with prawn pate) and 4 x Salmon and Avocado Rolls.

Salmon Fish House Durban - 16 x mix of Prawn Fusion California Rolls, Salmon Roses,Tuna Chilli Roses and Bamboo Rolls.

What to do

Open your Uber app or download it on your smartphone.

The deal starts from 11:30am Friday 27th November (TODAY)!

If you are in a Sushi zone, toggle over the adorable sashimi icon and request a ride.

Sooner than you know it, your Uber will arrive and deliver two delicious portions of sushi to a hungry traveller.

What you need to know

You may not choose which restaurant your sushi comes from in Joburg, it depends only on which restaurant is closest to you. 

While the demand will be high for your sushi on wheels, keep trying. The offer only ends when the sushi runs out. 

If you are ordering with a friend you can use Uber’s split fare option so you’re not footing the whole bill.
