Two authors actually:
Nicholas Sparks - He is my all time favourite author. I find his stories enchanting and it draws me in. He would be a dream to have dinner with. I'd love to learn more about his process and how he gets his ideas. You really feel like you know all about the area he writes from. The movie adaptations do not do the books justice.
Andy Weir, who wrote the Martian. I first read the book earlier this year and couldn't put it down. He's an engineer, like my husband, and it would be fascinating to talk to him. An engineer and an author is a fabulous combination.
Haroldina
Jodi Picoult
Her books are fascinating, keep you spellbound and cover a huge variety of topics which are part of real life.
It is always an eye-opener to many of life’s difficult moral decisions, personality traits or behaviours like Autism, death with dignity, religious cults etc. She spends a huge amount of time researching her topics.
Christel
I would love to have dinner with Karin Slaughter. I think she has a wonderful mind to be able to think out such well-orchestrated plots.
Renuka
I'd love to have dinner with Sophie Kinsella. I find her novels captivating and I always seem to be able to relate to them. I'd love to ask her where she gets her inspiration from when she writes a new novel.
Tarine
I would love to have dinner with Dean Koontz.
His wit and sarcasm based on his responses to the questions that his fans pose to him is something that I really think I’d enjoy.
He seems to be an absolutely fascinating character of a person and I’d love to learn more about his life.
It would be a night of general merriment and laughter. I know this is a short motivation but it’s exactly what I’d love to do with my favourite author, no serious talk about what motivated him to write the books and genres he wrote in.
I can only assume that he gets it so often from so many people. I’d love to just get to know him as a person.
Rose
I would love to have dinner with Ian McEwan.
I consider him one of the literary giants, and Atonement made an enormous impression on me. I have read it three times, and enjoyed it tremendously each time.
