Will men ever stop cat-calling women?

accreditation
A reader responds to Marisa Crous's column: 5 things "modern-men" still don't get about women.

When I was 17/ 18 years old I worked as a waitress at a pub. One night a customer, probably in his mid 60’s, had been harassing me the whole evening, trying to put his hand up my skirt etc.

I asked my male manager if I could swap tables with one of the male waiters and was told that the table was in my section and I should “deal with it.”

Later in the evening the customer had the following to say:

Him, “I’m going to the toilet.”

Me, “Ok.”

Him, “I want you to come with me.”

Me, “You’re old enough to pee by yourself.”

Him, “I want you to come sit on my face.”

Me, “Why, is your nose bigger than your penis?”

The customer took offense to my reply and the manager came over and told me I was being rude to a customer.

I resigned immediately.
