Eva Mendes and Ryan Gosling welcome baby girl

Los Angeles - Eva Mendes has reportedly given birth to a baby girl.

The 40-year-old actress and her boyfriend Ryan Gosling, 33, welcomed their daughter into the world in Los Angeles last Friday, according to UsMagazine.com.

No other information has been released.

News that the Urban Legends beauty was expecting their first child broke in July when she was approximately seven months pregnant.

The brunette beauty previously laughed off baby rumours in February when quizzed about it on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

She said at the time: "It's so ridiculous. It all started because I didn't want to go through the scanners at the airport. You know those X-ray scanners, which are really creepy? They basically see you naked, right? And not only that, but there's a radiation aspect to it, so I always opt out."

The couple have kept an extremely low profile in recent months, but an insider recently revealed The Notebook actor was eager to make things as easy as possible for his long-term girlfriend, as they prepared for their new arrival.

The source said: "Ryan goes out and gets the groceries. Eva's been wanting pasta, and he's cooking her meals. Ryan has already stepped into the role of caring father-to-be."

The pair, who have been dating since 2011, managed to keep the pregnancy a secret for a long time by only telling a few close friends and family members.

Another insider said previously: "Eva just hasn't ever wanted anyone beyond her close friends and family knowing more than they had to. And Ryan is certainly private and always has been."
