Los Angeles - George Clooney readressed the awkward apology he made for the failure of Batman & Robin.
While promoting Tomorrowland, the Oceans Eleven actor reminisced about his experience at last year's Comic Con in New York, thus leading to the distant memory of the apology he made at his very first Comic Con in 1997.
While chatting to Graham Norton on The Graham Norton show, Clooney said: "I did one film, Batman & Robin, which was a disaster! Other than that, there's never been a reason for me to go to Comic Con."
He then went on to explain why he initially apologised.
"Let me just say that I actually thought I destroyed the franchise, you know, until they brought it back and changed it...I thought at the time, this was going to be a good career move. Um, it wasn't."
Needless to say the Gravity actor returned to Comic Con in 2014 and no apologies needed to be made, none that were public anyway.
Clooney also revealed how he got to the comic convention, which involved cutting his honeymoon short.
"I got the call while on my honeymoon and was told it was really important that I fly in.
"First, I had to explain that to my wife which didn't play well. And then, the whole idea of spending part of your honeymoon with people dressed up like Captain Kirk and Star Wars characters somehow wasn't easy to explain to my new bride ... But, I showed up and it was actually fun."
