George Clooney and his dyed hair dilemma will make you LOL!

Los Angeles - George Clooney was "embarrassed" going out with dyed hair.

The 54-year-old star - who is married to lawyer Amal Clooney - is known for his silvery locks and worried what people thought of him when they saw him sporting much darker locks while filming comedy Hail, Caesar!.

He said: "After I'd wrap I'd change into normal clothes and I'd go to dinner with my wife and people would see me with black hair and they'd be like 'Really, dude? Really?' I'm like, 'It's for a movie.'

"They thought I was that guy. It was a little embarrassing.''

In Hail, Caesar!, George plays a 1950s film star shooting a movie in which he plays the leader of the Roman Empire and adored his costume.

He joked to E! News: "From the minute I got the role, I put on the leather dress and wore it everywhere."

As well as keeping busy promoting the movie with co-star Channing Tatum, George has also been preparing for Amal's birthday on Wednesday and Valentine's Day on 14 February, but he wants to keep the plans secret so as not to spoil the surprise.

George said: "I'm ready for it. I've planned it all out. Should I tell you everything and ruin it?!"

George and his wife Amal walked the red carpet at the Hail, Caesar! premiere at the Regency Village Theater in Los Angeles on Monday night.

The couple were joined at the glitzy event by his co-stars Jonah Hill, Josh Brolin and Channing and his spouse Jenna Dewan Tatum.
