What it's about:
An uptight and by-the-book cop tries to protect the sexy and outgoing widow of a drug boss as they race through Texas pursued by crooked cops and murderous gunmen.
What we thought:
So Reese Witherspoon and Sophia Vergara teamed up in a comedy... What more could you ask for right? Well at the end of this movie you’ll realise you could ask for a whole lot more than what you got.
No one can deny Reese Witherspoon – who plays Cooper - is a legend but her comedic role as an oblivious cop just didn’t do it for me. Sure her and Sofia Vergara (Daniella Riva) have the best chemistry and brought the best out of each other but the role was just too immature for her.
Sofia on the other hand worked that accent just like we all know she can! Tall and sexy was the aim and tall and sexy is what she produced, a twist towards the end may also surprise you as her fierce ‘bad bitch’ image comes out.
One thing that did impress me was Reese’s impressive Spanish; damn that lady has a mouth on her!
Basically the movie is a glorified road trip with A LOT of bumps along the way and when the uptight by-the-book cop finally delivers the package and gains some respect, all is right in the world again (no kidding).
Yes, it was a nice film to watch but should be saved for your 15-year-old’s sleepover rather than a night out to the cinema... unless you’re really having a chick flick girls night, then knock yourself out.
