What it's about:
When Thomas wakes up in a massive maze, stuck with a group of other boys, his only memory involves strange dreams about a mysterious organisation known as W.C.K.D. Time is of the essence and they must find a way out. By piecing together fragments of his past with clues he discovers in the maze, Thomas is put to the test in the hope to uncover his true purpose and a way to escape.
What we thought:
This movie is an adventure from beginning to end and will have you sitting on the edge of your seat, with a hand full of popcorn, wanting to know what will happen next! When Thomas is sent to the maze and wakes up to a group of lost boys, his curiosity finally sets the bar for finding a way out.
Although not everyone is happy with his arrival, the unity of these boys and the desperation to find a better future becomes the holding point for conquering the maze and its mysterious creatures.
The graphics of this movie will have you startled so hold onto your popcorn and get lost in the corners of the mystical concrete walls.
Will the boys find their way out, or will they be led into a bigger test? The Maze Runner opens an experience of the human brain and its will to survive which will have you rooting for Thomas and the few survivors all the way.
The only downfall of this movie is the plot twist right at the end which may leave you disappointed, but expect and action packed adventure that will have you waiting in anticipation for the sequel.
