Die Antwoord have a go at Lady gaga

Cape Town - Rap duo Die Antwoord have blasted world music star Lady Gaga, reports MTV news.

They told the music channel that Lady Gaga had invited them to join her tour but they refused.

"Lady Gaga asked us to tour with her and we were like, um, no thanks," said lead singer, ninja.

They went on to claim that they left their previous recording label, Interscope Records because they tried to change them into a “shitty” pop in the mould of Lady Gaga and Black Eyed Peas.

Lead singer Ninja was quoted saying: "I think they thought we were just like a weird, strange act, then like 'Let's just let them have their fun for a while, and then when it comes to their second album we'll have them play games.

'They were looking at Lady Gaga and The Black Eyed Peas and that type of shitty pop music, and were thinking we could like twist into that'."

The Cape Town duo also stated that they had nothing against pop music: "We like making pop music, but we like making hardcore music at the same time, mixing them, but they've got, like, soul. It's not like weak, superficial shit. You know?"

I'm sure Lady Gaga is losing much sleep over this... not. This lot are a total embarrassment for SA, nothing but real trailer park trash. The joke is on the Americans who don't see what we do.

They'll be haunted by their decision in 15 years time when their money and album sales have dried up.

According to an interview they did for SABC about a year ago, Die Antwoord aren't planning on being around for anything longer than four years. Apparently, they want to go with it full-time for that shortish period, then quit. At least they have some kind of artistic integrity. Going "pop" means they cannot include their colorful language use intact.
