Jeremy Clarkson catches feelings on Twitter after Top Gear finale

Los Angeles - Jeremy Clarkson tweeted about his sadness after his final episode of Top Gear aired on Sunday evening.

The 55-year-old broadcaster was axed from the popular BBC motoring show earlier this year following a "fracas" in which he punched a producer, with his last show put together from previously unaired footage and hosted by his former co-stars James May, 52 and Richard Hammond, 45.

After the episode ended, Clarkson tweeted:

The 75-minute show was also the last time May and Hammond will appear on the programme, which will be hosted by Chris Evans when it returns to BBC Two screens.

According to the BBC, Jeremy filmed a new voiceover for the episode, but did not receive any payment, while his co-stars filmed their links without the traditional studio audience.

The show opened with May and Hammond in the studio, along with the "elephant in the room", a 10ft plastic replica elephant called Jeremy.

Three episodes were unfinished when Jeremy was suspended in March for the incident involving producer Oisin Tymon.

Two were completed, with one showing the group travel across Britain in classic cars including a Fiat 124 Spider, an MGB GT and a Peugeot 304 Cabriolet.

The second saw them purchase an SUV on a £250 budget, before undertaking a number of challenges.
