The tourism department has been asked to intervene in an ugly dispute between leading entrepreneur Yoni Titi and the owner of a luxurious wedding venue that declined to refund her after she cancelled her wedding in December because she had contracted Covid-19.

Titi, the founder and CEO of Human Capital Evolution, had booked the R’New at Vaal, a picturesque and tranquil venue situated on the banks of the Vaal Dam near Johannesburg, for her memorable two-day wedding with her fiancé, Paulo Chaves, on December 10. The venue is owned by John Austen, an insurance business mogul.
