After the Electoral Commission of SA (IEC) publicly released the complete national candidates list on Tuesday, 26 March 2024, it was revealed that R&B singer Ringo Madlingozi, kwaito star Eugene Mthethwa and acclaimed actor Fana Mokoena have all made it into the top 100 for the EFF's national candidates list.

Madlingozi occupied number 21 on the list, Mokoena is number 35 and Mthethwa is number 65, dispelling a report by Sunday World this past weekend that the EFF had booted the three celebrities from their list of parliamentary candidates.
