A high-powered South African delegation met with International Criminal Court (ICC) representatives almost 100 times in a bid to have Russian President Vladimir Putin’s warrant of arrest withheld until after the Brics bloc’s meeting in Johannesburg.

This happened from the time the ICC issued the warrant in March until this week when it was announced that Putin would not be attending the much-anticipated Brics summit next month.
