The Gautrain Management Agency (GMA) intends appointing a suitably qualified and experienced Transaction Advisor (TA) to develop a detailed feasibility study for the procurement of the Gautrain Rapid Rail Link (GRRL) after the expiry of the current concession agreement in 2026 in accordance with Treasury Regulation 16.

The Gautrain is a Public Private Partnership (PPP) concluded in accordance with Treasury Regulation 16.

Treasury Regulation 16 requires the GMA to carefully consider the optimum vehicle required to continue with the operation of the Gautrain when the current concession period comes to an end.

The GMA will also consider new investment opportunities and improved service offerings for the Gautrain as part of the feasibility study. A multi-disciplinary TA team with skills and experience in, amongst others, PPPs, technical and operational aspects of passenger rail, legal, commercial, financial, economic and transformation is required to assist the GMA with this Treasury Regulation 16 process.

The TA may also be required to assist in the procurement phase depending on the outcome of the feasibility study.
