One of South Africa's long-running soapies, 7de Laan, is set to resume production on Thursday after its finances were sorted out. The popular Afrikaans show suspended production for three days this week after the SABC had reportedly failed to make a payment.

She added: "Production will recommence on Thursday, September 7. The cast and crew are committed to delivering the high-quality content our fans and viewers deserve."

Former 7de Laan actor director Denver Vraagom took to Facebook to vent his frustration. “And there you have it, via WhatsApp on a Sunday morning. Time for Ingrid Paulus and myself to move on. The disrespect, the way it’s done."
In July, the soapie was cancelled after airing for 23 years. The last episode will be broadcast on December 26 2023.
