Nota Baloyi responds to Phumlani S Langa's story on the psychological effects of a break-up and touches on how he is coping with his separation from his wife, Berita.
Nota Baloyi is exhibiting signs of a man defeated by the departure of his wife. His ex-wife, Afro-soul singer Berita posted some images of her visit to Spain, and this set the brother off on a series of tweets that are as polarising as the man who posted them.

Speaking to City Press in response to being included in an article #Trending published around the mental impact of break ups, Nota says:

He further clarifies: “We have not split, we had a disagreement and chose to live separately.”
In the aforementioned article, we cited his appearance on the Everything SA Music Podcast a few weeks back in which he claimed the illuminati took his wife.

He elaborates: “There is a lot of dark magic and a spiritual warfare in the industry. My enemies have targeted my wife to make her feel uncomfortable in the industry. Our disagreements started when she performed at a private event at Steyn City where Somizi [Mhlongo] told her that I’m holding her back in her career. They got to her, and she felt I was a liability.”
Somizi seemed to be yet another fly in Nota's ointment, who penned an open letter to him and the Idols SA production, lamenting Somizi's appearance on the show while allegations of abuse whirl around him. He also appeared on a popular podcast and took aim at Big Zulu. There is no love lost between those two either.
We asked whether he had ever been approached to dabble in the occult or any kind of secret organisation.

“Nope, but I remember Kelly Khumalo trying to convince Kwesta that his career is being held back by some spiritual nonsense and I advised him never to engage in anything pagan.”
Nota’s breakup seemed to coincide with dialogue erupting around black men dating white women who had been framed as the saviours of the broken hearts of black men. Playing out on Twitter - a place where not much good resides - foul entities like Chris Excel have chimed in and listed local black men who were involved with white women as being exemplary and on to some kind of answer, or anti-agent. It seems some South African men are looking for reasons anywhere but in the places that matter. Nota does concede to this not being a good look.
He went on to brush off the backlash he received with every tweet around this matter with some being sent directly to his estranged Zimbabwean wife. He called her out again for turning her back on her home country.

He scoffs: “I know how to get a conversation going, there’s a method to the madness … The backlash is only making sure the conversation happens.”

Nota remains causal and calm when speaking about his current court case with DJ Shimza.
He simply states: “Judgment is reserved.”
