New York - The world were on edge on Tuesday waiting for news of some kind of development that could lead to a resolution of the Greek debt crisis.
Eurogroup finance ministers were meeting in Brussels, with the hopes of working out a deal.
Joining them, of course, was new Greek Finance Minister Euclid Tsakalotos.
In only his second day on the job, he managed to set off a brief wave of speculation on social media after posing for a photo with his handwritten meeting notes visible to the cameras.
THE NOTE: Dutch Finance Minister and president of the Eurogroup Jeroen Dijsselbloem, newly appointed Greek Finance Minister Euclid Tsakalotos, and French Economy, Finance and Trade Minister Michel Sapin pictured during a Eurogroup meeting ahead of a Eurozone Summit meeting at the EU headquarters in Brussels on July 7, 2015. They're a little hard to make out (though they are written in English) and it's not clear what any of it really means.
One of the few phrases everyone noticed was "no triumphalism," possibly a reference to the Greek government's successful effort to get a "no" vote on their recent referendum.
There also appears to be reference to KKE, the Greek Communist party.
And what's the word missing in this statement: "mostly I __ on viability grounds" ?

People on Twitter investigated the mystery with little success.
Euclid Tsakalotos appears to have committed a schoolboy error at his first eurogroup meeting, by writing his notes on hotel paper. #grexit

Can't be too optimistic when #Tsakalotos own notes say "...of course - rejection" - #Greece https://t.co/ucMzEMuROg

Not a single concrete proposal but notes on a hotel notepad. Thank you, Greece, for keeping up the hipster mood. https://t.co/edZB6MUg2f

The inevitable joke versions have arrived.
Tsakalotos's #eurogroup notes EVEN closer up (tx @GreekAnalyst)
I think he was wrong to rule out the second option. pic.twitter.com/t5WlejnqH8

We probably haven't learned anything about what's going on in the meetings, but the notes have provided a fun diversion as we await the results.
